The
home for the aged in the town of Kikinda, today known as the
old home, was founded in 1946. and it was one of the first institutions
of that kind in Vojvodina after the war.
The name "uboški dom" was synonym for all institutions of that kind and it is current term even today.

In 1960 the home was joined the Center for welfare with the dispensary in Kikinda ,and so it became the part of newly founded institutions for welfare.
Nearly thirty years later, in May 1988, it was built new building
with 61 beds, which means that 181 inmates could be put up
in this institution.
