Home for
the aged was founded in 1946, in the town of Kikinda. It was
called uboški dom. It was the institution for care of the old
and sick persons, one of the first institutions which were founded
in Vojvodina after the war. |
In 1960 uboški dom,
today known as the old home, was joined the Center for welfare
with the dispensary in Kikinda, and so it became the part of
newly founded institutions for welfare.

Today home for the aged in Kikinda
employs 77 employees who work in two independent organizing
units: the old home where could be put up 120 inmates and the
new one, opened on May, 21 1998 in which there are 61 beds.
The both of them have identical services that are caracteristic
for the institution like this one.

The rest in the garden
|
The centre provides residence,
food, care, health care, various activities - recreative,
cultural, entertaining for its inmates. This institution also
offers to its inmates the possibility of social work, as well
as some other services, which depends on needs, possibilities
and interests of inmates.
|
It is also provided help which
is needed to old, helpless persons, according to the contract
with authorized community organs. The address of the Centre
